Polisi membantah aksi pengeroyokan jemaat gereja Huria Kisten Batak Protestan (HKBP) dilakukan oleh massa Front Pembela Islam (FPI). Menurut Kepala bidang humas polda metro jaya Komisaris besar Boy Rafli Amar aksi pengeroyokan dilakukan oleh masyarakat dan forum umat islam. “Jadi ini dilakukan bukan oleh FPI,” tegasnya kepada wartawan di Jalan Puyuh Raya, Bekasi, Ahad (8/8).

Boy berjanji akan menindak tegas pelaku pengeroyokan. “Kami akan proses jika ada laporan masuk. Jadi kami masih menunggu para korban untuk melapor, setelah itu akan kami proses.”

Menurut Kapolres Metro Bekasi Imam Sugianti, pihaknya sudah berusaha memberikan perlindungan kepada para jemaat gereja HKBP yang akan melakukan kebaktian dan memberi himbauan untuk tidak mendekati lokasi yang diduduki massa. “Tapi mereka (jemaat) tetap memaksa masuk,” katanya.

Pertanan berlapis dari polisi nyatanya berhasil diterobos massa yang menolak keberadaan jemaat HKBP. “Tadi kami menurunkan 500 personel dari brimob, polda, dan juga polres,” paparnya.

Meski polisi mengaku telah berusaha melakukan pengamanan namun, jemaat yang menjadi korban pengeroyokan massa tidak melihat tindakan perlindungan dari polisi saat kejadian.
